What is Old Pain2Go? It is a methodology of reducing or alleviating chronic pain. Pain that has lasted more than 12 weeks (about 3 months) is usually treated with pain medication. I have been trained and certified as a practitioner of OldPain2Go by Steven Blake, a researcher in England who developed this methodology so that people could have relief from chronic pain without having to continue taking pain medication.

As long as you are open to the possibility that your chronic pain can be reduced or alleviated, the chances for success are Increased. Steven Blake explains it this way: “Understanding Pain- It is just like a Fire Alarm. Imagine you are sitting in a Public Library. Acute Pain is like a fire alarm when it initially goes off.

A really loud and annoying message, but the alarm is not the problem, it is just making you aware of the potential harm and threat of death from a potential fire that you can safely move away from. Chronic Pain is like an alarm that stuck on long after the fire went out. You are in the library 5 years later and the alarm is still ringing. You are really apprehensive being there, tense up and remain afraid whilst staying somewhere you need to be. Your sense of danger is not from the old fire, but the possibility that there will be a new fire and you will not be alerted to it- because the alarm is already ringing, so how can it warn you?

Chronic Pain is not indicating the problem- It IS THE PROBLEM. The library solution is simple, get an engineer who understands how to RESET THE ALARM.

And the good news is your brain has a decision-making process which can do that. The decision to give your brain can be reconsidered and with new information and the exclusion of some out-of-date or exaggerated Data, it can make a new calculation that resetting the pain alarm is safer than keeping you in that pain.

When it does that, the effect can be the same as resetting an alarm where the ringing goes away, INSTANTLY. Generally, a single Pain Review Session is typically sufficient to determine whether you can facilitate a shift in your perspective or not, as we collaboratively explore potential avenues for resolution. Hopefully, resulting in a simple change of understanding that your chronic pain no longer serves a purpose leading to change of your brain’s opinion!”
